Christmas Flowers:  If you’d like to donate for flowers or other Christmas decorations please fill out the green form located at the narthex and the front desk.  Deadline is Monday, December 14th.


Thank you!   The Altar Guild extends a hearty thank you to all who helped us with the Bake Sale.  We were very successful thanks to all the bakers and the buyers.  The funds that were received ($300) will be used for our Worship program. The support that so many of you gave us is greatly valued. 


Our church would also like to thank Julie Heinicka, Harvey and Susan Brillat and all of the other volunteers who made our yard sale very successful we raised ~$2000.



Vestry:  The nomination committee, Judy Marx, Julie Heinicka, Cynthia Laitinen and Father Jon, is now taking names until mid December for anyone interested in serving on Vestry.



Pledges:  It’s time for us to prayerfully discern our financial pledges to Calvary.  We will take, “A Journey to the Tithe” and collect pledges throughout the Sundays in Advent.  Today is the second Sunday in Advent.  Pledge cards are available in the narthex.  Our goal is to receive 70 pledges totaling $170,000.  We currently have 28 pledges totaling ~$77,000.  You are invited to bring your pledge to the altar during the doxology to assist in reaching our goal. 



Christmas Shoe Box Ministry:  Blesses children with joy, hope, and love.  Thank you to all who have filled and return the Christmas Shoe Boxes to be delivered to the migrant children.  If you have not yet brought yours in, please do so by Monday, December 7th.  Your generous support is appreciated.  Father Jon, Marilyn Clark and our “elves” will pack them up and deliver them to DaySpring on Tuesday, December 8th.   



Winterfest on the Rocks: is only two months away. Last year we raised $14,500 for the church. In an effort to help us reach our goals, this year we’re adding a raffle for a beautiful $1,500  Bote paddle board. The raffle tickets are only $10 each. We ask your help, both, in selling and buying these tickets. Tickets are available at the office during the week or after church service at the front desk.  If you have questions regarding Winterfest please contact Cherie Smith, Betsy McKenna or Bill Athanson.

Annual Jolley Trolley - The Indian Rocks Beach Christmas Street Parade is Sunday, December 6th, 11:30am – 3:00pm.  Lunch will be in Parish Hall before boarding the trolley. Volunteers needed to bring snacks, side dish and drinks. The Jolley Trolley will pick up all the participants at Calvary and then proceed to the parade line-up area. The actual parade begins at 1:00 p.m. and should be over by 3 p.m.  You must RSVP. There is room for 30 people.  Adults and children all invited.  No unaccompanied minors please.  Contact Dianne Oeste with any questions. 

Youth Musical production – “The Christmas Mission across America” Musical Play NEEDS YOUR HELP

Please consider donating the following items to the church that will help make our play a success.



  • 10-Flannel Shirts

  • 10-Tropical Shirts

  • Inflatable or artificial Palm Tree

  • Inflatable or any tall Lighthouse

  • Remote control helicopter or airplane

  • Hats with earflaps, mittens or hats for “northern climate”

SOMBA:  Today we celebrate the 1st SOMBA or First Sunday Of the Month Birthdays and Anniversaries for the month of December.  Join us in the Parish Hall after mass for great coffee, special cake and good fellowship.


Singles Christmas party:  Calling all singles...mark your calendar for the Christmas party on Friday, Dec. 11th.
