Calvary Vestry Special Meeting Minutes
December 10, 2017
The Vestry of Calvary Episcopal church held a special meeting on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 11:25 AM, for the purpose of selecting a firm to do the forensic audit for Calvary. Those present were Mike Alford, Marilyn Clark, Elyssa Coker, Steve Hein, Kim Heinicka, David Kline, Renee Lee, Chuck Pond, Jo Simpson, Jim Widell, Judy Marx and Deacon Melissa Sands. Jim Yanacheck and Rick Schock were excused.
Mike Alford read a letter from Fr. Roberts in which he authorized the meeting and recused himself from being there so that the Vestry could freely discuss which of the two CPA firms would be best suited for our 2017 audit. (See copy of letter attached)
Mike Alford discussed his meeting with the Bishop. He also discussed the two firms that the Diocese recommended to do our internal audit. There was good discussion by the Vestry. Mike Alford said that if four or more were not in favor of retaining Mercurio and Maxwell we are going to move on. Five members voted that we move on to another firm.
Chuck Pond made a motion that we vote on how many of our current Vestry members would be in favor of moving forward with the firm CBIZ. Steve Hein seconded and the motion carried.
Mike Alford thanked the Vestry members for the passionate discussion on the matters at hand. Deacon Melissa Sands closed us in prayer and the meeting was adjourned until our regular meeting tomorrow night.
